B is for baby.....and books!!!

Thursday, November 4, 2010
One of the latest baby shower themes is "books".  Might sound boring at first but in reality it's a really great and fun idea for the mom and future baby.  This theming can go far and carry over to decoration and invitations, or simply be a means of building a library for the baby.

A close friend of mine shared with me her tradition of bringing a book as a gift for each baby shower and inside it she writes a message to the little one.  I "borrowed" that idea and now have used it twice and love the idea.

It's a great way to help build a growing library for the future girl or boy. :)

These invitations are part of my latest baby shower collection.

Safety Pin

If there is one thing I love it's color, texture and emblishments.  These baby shower invitations with a baby safety pin are favorites of mine.

You're expecting!

Tuesday, March 16, 2010
Finding out you are expecting is probably one of the greatest moments in a person's life.  It seems every time I talk to a friend these days they are having a baby.  When a dear friend of mine Vanessa  spilled the beans to me and asked me to create an announcement for her and her husband, I was thrilled!

I must admit, this design was a challenge but a fun one.  Vanessa is a great designer herself - check out her blog just to see!  So when she wanted a custom announcement to tell the world about the baby coming, she knew exactly what she wanted.

Vanessa loves birdies!!!  no really she loves birds  and so she knew she wanted them incorporated into the design, as well as  bright colors, the baby's first sonogram and  a cute little saying she  sent my way.

Here were the final results.

Inspiration is everywhere...

Thursday, August 14, 2008
Once you start designing inspiration is everywhere and in everything. A piece of paper, the color of the sky, a font, a piece of fabric or in some cases a strand of ribbon. I find ideas coming faster than I can make them these days. Last week, while in the art store I came across a spool of dotted ribbon. I loved the colors and thought it would be a great addition and be used someday. Then one day as I sat, I had a vision of a completed invitation in my mind....and this baby shower invitation was born. I added some decorative papers and a cute charm as a finishing touch.
